As a third sector organisation we are reliant and indebted to our volunteers.

There is little to no statutory rights to respite for Young Carers, and therefore our respite activities are undertaken through a grants, donations and volunteer donated time.

We could not undertake our core mission – to provide respite for Young Carers – without them.

Our volunteers span the age groups with our youngest being 23, and our eldest 77. Their range of occupational backgrounds and life experiences are an asset to the charity and expand & enhance the young people’s experience our groups.

We require three “types” of volunteer:

Driver-volunteers: Support the core work of the charity by picking up children taking them to group and helping run the group.

Group Leaders: Support the core work of the charity by planning and running our respite groups.  Group leaders are responsible for: choosing activities; organising food for the children and volunteers; planning pickups and drop-offs and undertaking necessary paperwork and safeguarding reports.

Trustees: Provide overall governance for the charity. Ensuring sound and safe management of our charity.
